Dental Implants
~ The best choice for replacing missing teeth ~
A dental implant is an ideal tooth restoration for people who are missing one or more teeth. It is a titanium screw that an oral surgeon surgically positions into the jawbone where it will attach and become as secure as a healthy root. After a period of healing – usually three to six months – Dr. Brodie masterfully creates a crown to match your surrounding teeth that will then screw to the top of the secured implant post. Once complete, dental implants are functionally and aesthetically superb.
Dr. Scott Brodie is proud of our implant team and their commitment to excellence. From the surgeon placing the implant post, to the custom-order lab fabricating the crown locally, we know your time and money are well invested in this process.
Root Canals
A root canal is a type of endodontic treatment that involves cleaning out the canals of a tooth’s root to save the existing tooth. If a tooth is restorable, the infected tissue can be removed and the canal system in the root disinfected and filled. The tooth is restored by filling the hole with a composite filling or by covering the tooth with a dental crown or onlay to prevent it from breaking.
Depending on the appearance, shape, and number of canals to be treated, or a history of previous root canal treatment, a referral to a local endodontist who specializes in root canals may be provided.
Dental Fillings
Through early detection, conservative treatment, and the latest technology, we provide patient comfort with minimally invasive dentistry.
If decay is present on a tooth, Dr. Brodie will evaluate the need for a dental filling. If treatment is decided on, Dr. Brodie removes the decay and fills the space with a tooth-colored material called composite. The advantage of composite fillings is they match the tooth’s color and are more conservative to save additional tooth structure.
Depending on the size and location of the decay, a filling can be an inlay or onlay. If the decay is severe or encompasses too much of the tooth structure, a crown may be needed.
